We work with agencies who work with the homeless and those in supported housing in Brighton & Hove. We need the agencies to identify suitable candidates for moving on into the private rented sector. The candidates will either be street homeless, those in a hostel, or low need supported housing who have been homeless and whose place will be taken by a homeless person. The candidates must have a connection to Brighton & Hove and be people for whom the council do not have a duty of care. The candidates must be assessed as tenancy ready.
We expect the introducers to fully understand the Umbrella procedures and to have undergone training. We also expect them to select people who are in a stable place and have been trained the in managing a tenancy. It is very important that the candidate is willing and ready to move and is fully engaged with the process and is ready to accept transitional support. It should not be the agency pushing the candidate to us.
At the moment, because our resources are so limited, we are restricting our introducers to ensure we can offer a good service. It is sometimes possible for a new introducer to introduce a candidate through one of our existing contacts. If you wish to talk about becoming an introducer, please contact us.
We currently work with:
